About the Artist

Hi, my name is Erin, I'm an artist from the central NJ shore area where I live with my two dogs; Pica, the min-pin boston terrier mix you see here and who I named my business after, and Hank, a very sweet pit-bull mix.
I love all animals, especially dogs as you can probably tell, and although I don't like to play favorites with breeds I do have a soft-spot for pit-bulls and other bully breeds. I've always felt for the "under-dog" and I dislike the horrible way they're treated by some people, the unfair bad reputation they have, the prejudice against them, and the fact that so many of them are in shelters because of irresponsible owners and breeders. I've donated artwork to pit bull rescue and awareness groups in the past and am interested in opportunities to help when and where I can.
Creating art is something that I've always loved doing, but I've been mostly painting pet portraits for over a decade now. I come from a family of artists who've taught me a lot of what I know, and I also briefly studied at the Ducret School of Art under some very talented instructors. There is nothing better to me than when someone truly loves what I have created for them, I really feel like I am so lucky to have had the best clients/customers to work with (I think it must be something about animal-lovers), and am so happy to be able to do something I really enjoy which combines my love of creating art with my love for animals.
I used to have a store on etsy when they were still fairly new which is where I started selling portraits online. Here is a link to some of my feedback from etsy customers:

Thanks for taking the time to view my work, please contact me if you have any questions or see the process section for more information on commissioning a custom portrait.
